Personal view: | Ben Nevis is the highest mountain of Scotland, and the distillery is situated directly between the foot of the mountain and the Loch Linnhe, which is in fact an arm of the Atlantic ocean. It was raining, when we arrived, the head of Ben Nevis obscured by clouds. Despite the many vehicles on the car park the air smelled double fresh, mountain wind and sea air, a promising blend. |
Shopping and tour: | We did not participate the tour, but we enjoyed the shop. Again we could get a "tot glass" for our collection of distillery branded glasses. And I finally found a small funnel for my flask. Then we tastet the Ben Nevis 10 years old, but it did not quite convince us - the car was already filled up with bottles and Islay was still ahead... |
