A vatted whisky is a pure malt whisky (no grain components), but with basic malts originating from several distilleries. Its character thus is somewhere between the very individual, exciting (and sometimes rough) Single Malt and the smooth, pleasing and time-constant Blended type.
A very cheap vatted Scotch whisky. In my opinion more like a blend.
Finally I got a bottle of this vatted whisky consisting of at least 15 years old malts. I like it. It is full, heavy, complex. You will find many different aromes in this pure malt whisky.
