First we shape our tools, then our tools shape us.

WHAT | Mind Mapping is a visualizing technique primarily for structuring and codifying knowledge. With aid of Mind Mapping ideas are graphically collected, structured resp. organized, and valuated. |
WHY | This tool aims at collecting ideas shortly in a team within a problem domain or topic.
Simultaneously the ideas structured in main and sub ideas are ordered and graphed. The learning process of a group or team is supported by the visual representation of the ideas in the form of branches as well as by the structured and step-by-step generation and documentation of the ideas. Mind Maps stimulate the imagination and facilitate bearing the ideas in remembrance. |
HOW | Mind mapping starts with a central word or concept, around the central word you draw
the 5 to 10 main ideas that relate to that word. You then take each of those child words and
again draw the 5 to 10 main ideas that relate to each of those words. A visual representation of the ideas emerges step by step. If there is a relationship between two different ideas one may connect them by means of arrows. |
